🤎💀 DEATHMOTH BACKPACK – Embroidered Moth Backpack with Movable Wings 🌙
Hawkmoth is an embroidered moth-shaped backpack for those drawn to a darker aesthetic. Inspired by the death’s-head hawkmoth, our design combines natural wing colours with haunting skull motifs. In European folklore, this nocturnal moth was considered an omen of death because of the skull-like marking on its thorax.
The backpack features movable, richly embroidered wings in shades of brown, beige and muted ochre. Black lines define their shape, while subtle shading gives the pattern depth. An embroidered moth body bearing a skull emerges between the wings. Smaller skulls appear on the upper wings, giving our interpretation an eerie fantasy twist.
The intricate embroidery takes many hours of painstaking work. Densely layered stitches create delicate colour transitions and an almost three-dimensional texture. Every detail, from the fine lines across the wings to the tiny skulls, forms part of this elaborate composition. It is this richness that makes the moth wing backpack just as captivating up close.
Spread the movable wings or fold them in to change the backpack’s silhouette. Open wings reveal the embroidery in full for a striking 3D effect. Folded wings sit closer to the base, partially concealing the moth’s body.
